The preserve is located on Route 101, just under ½ mile west of Route 236 on the left. If you cross the Salmon Falls River into New Hampshire, you’ve gone too far. There is a fairly large parking area on site.
Description:
The Savage Wildlife Preserve spans 26 acres and features a 0.6-mile trail network winding through a rich mix of habitats, including grass meadows, riparian zones, tidal inlets, marshland, and forested areas with both hardwoods and softwoods. The trail leads to a scenic overlook of the Salmon Falls River and its estuarine wetlands—an excellent spot for birdwatching and nature observation.

There are no restroom facilities available at the preserve.
