We will meet at 10:00 a.m. at the Ledges Trail head off Mountain Road. Once we meet and greet, we will have options. The Ledges Trail is a moderate climb through deciduous forest. Just to the north is the Bald Peak Trail. This is another climb but with a level place not too high up. Lastly, there is the Southwest Trail. This has a flatter area but there will be no collecting until we reach Land Trust property. It will be easier to eat on the trail, but please carry out any and all refuse.
Loon Echo Land Trust will be inviting their people to join us as well. I'm hoping they will be able to give us guidance on the trails and we can turn them on to the wonders of insects.
Bring your collecting/photography gear, insect repellant, lunch and plenty of liquid to drink.
Please email Peter Darling at petedarlingii@yahoo.com if you plan on being there.
